Brilliant Future Guide

Write for us

We welcome pitches from writers who can make a question about personal futures clear, concrete and generous to different ways of thinking. Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option.

What we welcome

Pitch original essays, explainers and guided exercises about values, possible futures, reflection, priorities or first steps. Strong ideas have a distinct point: perhaps a useful way to picture an ordinary day, or a careful comparison of two creative approaches. We are less interested in broad promises of transformation than in a well-framed question readers can genuinely explore.

A useful pitch

Include a working title, the central idea, who the piece is for and what a reader will be able to consider or try. Say what makes the approach different from familiar advice, and note any sources needed for factual claims. For a guided exercise, explain its purpose and where readers might adapt it to suit themselves.

Editorial fit

Submissions should be original, specific and written in natural English. Avoid guaranteed outcomes, professional advice and claims that cannot be supported. Do not send a finished draft unless requested; a concise proposal gives us room to discuss the shape of the piece.

Our point of view

A future is shaped, not found.

We treat imagining what comes next as a creative practice: make the picture clearer, question its assumptions and choose a small step that belongs to you.
